Agricast extends range of tough tungsten carbide points

Wearing parts specialist Agricast has extended its range of cultivator-specific tungsten carbide points to another four implements, and also expanded the choice of universal soil-engaging parts available.

Like the company’s tungsten carbide-tipped plough points and weld-on components, the new cultivator points are of similar shape to the originals, but with the strategic addition of tungsten carbide material to increase wear resistance beyond traditional steel parts.

The company says the longer-lasting points should ultimately cost less per hectare, especially in a very dry summer with baked, abrasive soils causing higher-than-usual rates of wear.

Agricast’s latest points are designed for Kockerling Allrounder and Kongskilde Vibroflex spring-tine cultivators, the Lemken Karat rigid tine (with coil spring protection) stubble cultivator, and the Vaderstad Topdown.

The Topdown combination implement has hydraulically protected rigid tines positioned behind a row of notched discs and ahead of a row of finger-tine levelling discs and a choice of packers.

In addition to the new chisel points, the company’s extended range of universal fitment parts with anti-wear tungsten carbide now covers other cultivators from Horsch, Kockerling, Simba/Great Plains and Vaderstad, and ploughs from Gregoire Besson, Dowdeswell, Kuhn, Kverneland, Lemken, Ransomes and Rabe.

Agricast also supplies weld-on tungsten carbide tiles and edge strips for added wear resistance.
